RELATIONAL COVENANT

 

This is our covenant / agreement of how will treat one another in our church community and strive to treat those outside the church.

As the people of Cascade View Covenant Church, we will work together to:

LOVE ONE ANOTHER: build each other up and not tear down. (John 13:34-35, 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

WALK HAND IN HAND even though we might not see eye to eye. (Colossians 3:14-15)

COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND DIRECTLY with humility and love. (Colossians 3:12-14)

TREAT EACH SITUATION WITH compassion, grace, and forgiveness, guided by the Holy Spirit. (Colossians 3:12-17)

RESPECT AND HONOR the office of pastor and church leaders. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13)

SEEK TO DISCOVER what is best for our church as a whole. (Philippians 2:2-6, Romans 12:3-4)

ACCEPT CONFLICT as a normal and natural part of life in community.

DEAL CONSTRUCTIVELY  with disagreements or conflicts by: (Matthew 5:23-24, Matthew 18:15-17)
• Going directly to the person with whom there is a disagreement or conflict.
• Having an agreed upon third party meet with the conflicted persons.
• Agreeing to meet with an assigned committee to work out the disagreement or conflict.

BELIEVE IN the best in each other. (Philippians 4:2-3)

SUPPORT one another through prayer and invest in each other’s lives. (Colossians 4:2)
